STYLE S.O.S | 28 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS

I am loving that midi and maxi coats are still in fashion this year, they have just been upgraded and belted. Not only are they warm, they also add a certain formality when you maybe look like an absolute hobo underneath, no one would know it!

This petite robe coat is from topshop and its my saviour when I am in a rush as its cosy and has large Mary poppins pockets that fit absolutely everything, keys, phone, teethers throw it all in there. It's been a while since I have worn my vans and I thought I would bring them out today as they were practical and the burgundy added colour to my outfit.

We had a little pre show day for Chiara's drama class, everytime I go into central London I'm reminded of why I do not venture there often, the overcrowding, the rudeness and let's not even start on the commute there.

STYLE S.O.S | 29 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS

My goodness the amount of emails I have received in regards to Black Friday this week deserve a record, the retailers are going in for the kill. I haven't bought anything as yet and I am trying to resist the temptation to shop for now. I hope I stay strong until cyber Monday. It's almost as if all humanity loses its marbles at the expense of a great bargain, I was outraged at the video of the women fighting over a steamer where a lady grabbed it from the child's hands. When will this madness end? I'm all for a great bargain but thank goodness I didn't go into any shops today.

I had a few errands to run, and ended my day with a festive soy toffee nut latte from Starbucks. As I was pushing the Pram I managed to handle an over the knee boot with a little heel but they are great options currently on the market for flat boots too. Have a look at my post on over the knee boots all under £60.  I'm quite proud that it's day 3 now and I've managed to actually make an effort, one lovely lady on Instagram empathised and took up the challenge stating that when she did dress up, other mums thought she was attending an interview.... lol. We've all been there @lucyfinn. Let's steer clear of being the leggings and slouchy tops brigade and show that making making an effort with our style isn't only for special occasions.

I love my sleeveless jacket, it goes well with a long sleeved top, upgrades my outfit and the belt cinches in my waist. The boots were an absolute steal at £20 in primark,  but were bought earlier this year. Everything I'm wearing is from topshop except the boots. I'll link outfit details below.

Are you guys grabbing any bargains, are you an online shopper or do you prefer to shop in store? Let me know on Instagram if you are doing this challenge with the hashtag #mumstylechallenge.

STYLE S.O.S | 30 days until Christmas

I love Thursday's because they signify that the week is almost over and I can have a mini lie-in during the weekend.

Continuing on with my challenge and I have made it to day two, I had quite an active day, I signed Logan up to weekly swimming lessons,  today was his  second. I want him to be a confident swimmer and it's a great way to bond with him without the distraction of my phone or television.

The lesson went swimmingly - pun intended,  until one overcautious mother made me paranoid, it always amazes me that some mothers will think of the worst case scenario, and share it with other mother's knowing what effect it will have, but adding "I don't mean to scare you"...of course you don't Sandra,    but I'll save that rant for another post.

He is becoming used to the water. So many child parent activities involve a lot of fake smiling and singing to your children, to reinforce happiness and positivity, by the time I'm finished my cheeks hurt.

As I was going to be in the water with him I did my hair in a side braid and was so pleased with the curls it gave my hair when I came out.  The weather wasn't as extreme as it was this past weekend so I was able to get away with a leather jacket, I threw on a game of thrones slogan t-shirt, and some black jeans and wedge sneakers. Quite a simple and practical outfit. Click the links below to shop a similar style. I'm going to sign off and prepare for the madness that is black Friday.

TOP FIVE KNITS TO KNOW FOR NOW

So it's finally the end to a summer that never was and as I get back into the swing of things after nesting and nursing the windy weather has me browsing the racks and the Crimson leaves means introducing some warmth into the wardrobe.

Knits are definitely having a moment and it doesn't seem to be fading anytime soon. I'm thinking less grandma's knitted sweaters that end up at the back of the closet, the new knits have a twist. From chunky knits with an edge, open back, inserted zips, cable to matching co-ordinate pieces, knits are the the strong transitition piece for Autumn that keep u looking stylish but warm.

I listed my top five favourites currently in store, what are your favourite transition pieces?

WINTER WISH LIST

Cape: After Burberry's hit show these bad boys are the winter essential, they mostly come under £30 and you can find great ones up to £30

Over the knee boots: I have been searching for over the knee boots for the longest time. After lusting after Topshop's carbon knee highs which were at the hefty price of £125 I did find a cheaper alternative on newlook and misguided under £50.

Polo necks: never thought I would see this, polo necks are back, I prefer knitted jumpers but these are great on anyone with a swan neck.

Maxi Coats: After Kim Ks over sized jacket lusting I'm gad that these are still in trend this winter. This asos one is gorgeous. Camel is a great colour.
