STYLE S.O.S | 29 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS

My goodness the amount of emails I have received in regards to Black Friday this week deserve a record, the retailers are going in for the kill. I haven't bought anything as yet and I am trying to resist the temptation to shop for now. I hope I stay strong until cyber Monday. It's almost as if all humanity loses its marbles at the expense of a great bargain, I was outraged at the video of the women fighting over a steamer where a lady grabbed it from the child's hands. When will this madness end? I'm all for a great bargain but thank goodness I didn't go into any shops today.

I had a few errands to run, and ended my day with a festive soy toffee nut latte from Starbucks. As I was pushing the Pram I managed to handle an over the knee boot with a little heel but they are great options currently on the market for flat boots too. Have a look at my post on over the knee boots all under £60.  I'm quite proud that it's day 3 now and I've managed to actually make an effort, one lovely lady on Instagram empathised and took up the challenge stating that when she did dress up, other mums thought she was attending an interview.... lol. We've all been there @lucyfinn. Let's steer clear of being the leggings and slouchy tops brigade and show that making making an effort with our style isn't only for special occasions.

I love my sleeveless jacket, it goes well with a long sleeved top, upgrades my outfit and the belt cinches in my waist. The boots were an absolute steal at £20 in primark,  but were bought earlier this year. Everything I'm wearing is from topshop except the boots. I'll link outfit details below.

Are you guys grabbing any bargains, are you an online shopper or do you prefer to shop in store? Let me know on Instagram if you are doing this challenge with the hashtag #mumstylechallenge.

Christmas gift guide - gifts for her

November is nearly over which means I can pen my christmas wish list, only difference is it will not be addressed to santa but can serve as a gentle hint to the man in my life. I'm not exactly Ebenezer Scrooge or the grinch when it comes to christmas, bah humbug, but I'm not exactly excited. I relate it more to the stress and thoughts of planning meals and making sure my family has fun rather than what I will enjoy myself, in fact I think I only put in extra effort since my daughter counts christmas down from the day after her October birthday celebrations are finished. This year will be different as we now have two children, although I'm sure Logan will take no notice of the day.

I've learnt one trick though which does make me look forward to christmas, besides the mulled wine ;) for every couple of presents I buy I do make sure I treat myself to at least one splurge. I drew up a few things I am lusting after and would not mind receiving. Of course christmas isn't just about presents, but what better way to show someone you love them than by getting them something they really like. What is on your christmas Wishlist and which is your favourite present?

STYLE S.O.S | 30 days until Christmas

I love Thursday's because they signify that the week is almost over and I can have a mini lie-in during the weekend.

Continuing on with my challenge and I have made it to day two, I had quite an active day, I signed Logan up to weekly swimming lessons,  today was his  second. I want him to be a confident swimmer and it's a great way to bond with him without the distraction of my phone or television.

The lesson went swimmingly - pun intended,  until one overcautious mother made me paranoid, it always amazes me that some mothers will think of the worst case scenario, and share it with other mother's knowing what effect it will have, but adding "I don't mean to scare you"...of course you don't Sandra,    but I'll save that rant for another post.

He is becoming used to the water. So many child parent activities involve a lot of fake smiling and singing to your children, to reinforce happiness and positivity, by the time I'm finished my cheeks hurt.

As I was going to be in the water with him I did my hair in a side braid and was so pleased with the curls it gave my hair when I came out.  The weather wasn't as extreme as it was this past weekend so I was able to get away with a leather jacket, I threw on a game of thrones slogan t-shirt, and some black jeans and wedge sneakers. Quite a simple and practical outfit. Click the links below to shop a similar style. I'm going to sign off and prepare for the madness that is black Friday.

Rihanna fashion icon

Rihanna has become the bad girl we all love to love, from army cadet tomboy to fashionista, artist and a -lister it's undeniable the presence the only 25 year old star has had on the entertainment industry. Just three years ago almost every other girl I ran into, had the 'Rihanna' undercut pixie with a fringe. I mean who can resist and protest the fact that she largely influences not only how young girls dress but now also the way in which the fashion world produces it's shows, I mean only look at Tom fords recent collection to see the Rihanna influences, even he beckoned for her return to Instagram which was shut down following a spew of pictures posted with bare bum cheeks nipples and tan lines. When it comes to nudity should we give rihanna a pass? I mean can we stifle artistic expression? Or should we let rihanna be and only watch in awe as she continues to push the envelopes??

Have a look at other looks that have raised an eyebrow
