I Am Not My Hair

.

Literally have had the worst week, and was not feeling my best, not only did I have an absces and have to make a dash to the dentist, my hair/ extensions did not arrive!!  me and my hair have a love hate relationship. The thing is I love my natural hair enough not to fry it with chemicals but I also do not like dealing with it especially in winter, hence why I tend to choose a weave as my protective style.

This week really had me at my lowest point I had to cancel a hairdresser  appointment and Logan has also begin teething which means he screams until he has something to chew on, with my toothache this week I can't even blame him.

For the first time in quite a while I decided to wear it out to an event. I actually even made a dash to Stratford to buy a wig to actually avoid dealing with my natural hair. I do not know what it is I guess I do not feel as confident because my hair in its natural state is not at the length I would like it to be. Not only did I feel awkward and conscious, I actually didn't even enjoy taking pictures which is strange for me.

I spend so much time telling my daughter to embrace her natural hair and not care that it is shorter than other girls hair, yet here I was not practicing what I preach.when she saw me she loved it and commented that it was very pretty I loved seeing the glee in her face. I think once in a while I will rock my natural not only for myself but to also boost her self  esteem. As India Arie put it "I am not my hair.

I clearly have taken a break from my daily style posts but shall continue for the next twelve days until Christmas. What are your body and beauty woes?

My Brazilian blow dry experience

A few months ago me and a friend went to three crystals to have a keratin treatment. I thought I would share my results with you. As it is a very evasive treatment, I would only recommend to do it once a year or dependant on your hair type, my hair is quite fine and I'm always looking to add volume. I cut my hair after the treatment and styled it into a bob with a side fringe.

Before

Treatment

After had to leave in for 24 hours

After I had to leave the treatment in and wash after 24hours.
I love how the treatment leaves ur hair feeling light and manageable with lots of movement.

As above because my hair is so thin I decided to cut it just to make the appearance seem fuller
:(

Add some make up.....VOILA

I also purchased some maintenance and sulphate free products which maintain the keratin.

1. Moroccan oil
2. Moroccan oil shampoo
3. Moroccan oil conditioner

Connie contours

I look like a little child without makeup!!!! So this fashion craze is appropriate for when I want to turn up the sophisticated and impress.

Although late this was my makeup for valentines day last month so I thought I would do a step by step guide on this look.

I began by moisturising my skin with la Roche posay, effaclar duo.

I then chose a foundation darker than my skin tone and used a smaller brush to fill in the hollows of my face: cheeks, chin, forehead.  : sleek

I applied blusher to the apples of my cheek: revlon creme blush

Using my finger tips I used my mac concealer to cover blemishes and lighten my dark circles around my eyes.

I finished by using a large foundation brush to put my Giorgio Arminians foundation all over my face in circular motions to buff and blend my makeup

Finishing touches included a nude lip by laurer mercier lipstick and my go to mascara by benefit 'they're real'

Have a go, and let me know how you get on.
